Come see what happens when the age-old art form of basketry is combined with contemporary visions and techniques. This juried art exhibition that features 67 works by 42 artists from across the United States will challenge the viewer's ideas of what constitutes a basket. All artworks to be displayed are vessels made of woven materials, but the works explore a variety of sizes, styles, colors, and shapes. Additionally, works were created from a vast array of materials. Many of the artworks will be available for purchase. Furthermore, Ohio University Press, Athens, Ohio, has published a full-color book documenting the complete Beyond Basketry and Bead International 2008 collections. The book will be available for purchase through The Dairy Barn Arts Center's gallery shop. Beyond Basketry will be on display with Bead International 2008 in the Dairy Barn Arts Centers Sauber Gallery.
